History of our Organisation
At YWCA Madurai, we’re proud to offer a unique educational experience designed to enhance intellectual growth and promote participatory engagement.
We currently have 4 schools under the YWCA Madurai. There is 1 Matriculation School and 3 Nursery & Primary Schools. We believe in wholesome education.
We are driven by values and excellence. We teach both academic and co- curricularactivities. Our students are offered classes in skating, chess, karate, abacus, bharathanatiyam, scout and yoga. Moral values are being instilled into the hearts and minds of our students. Our teachers are passionate about the art of education and strive to offer every student the care they require.
Importance is being given to their overall growth by striking a balance between studies and other activities and programmes. Y Deepa club, Science club, English club, language club, etc are few such clubs that bring out the talents and activities of the students where they are encouraged to step up and gain confidence to express their talents and opinions.
The Y Deepa club gathers the boys and girls from 6th to 8th standard of the club at frequent intervals to open their eyes to the issues in the society especially against women and children.We believe the students are the future and valueour role in shaping them into responsible citizens.
Balwadi
As a part of our motto to serve with love,Two Balwadieswere established by the Association to take care of the children of working women mainly from poor economic background. One such balwadi was started in 1987 in Sambakulamwith more than 25 kids and another in Tirunagar started in 1975 with around 20 kids. The children are provided with education and a free noon meal.
