It's amazing to see the remarkable work done by the YWCA of Madurai under the leadership of Dr. Miss Grace Kennett. Their commitment to enabling and empowering women and girls, while promoting their wholesome development, is truly inspiring. With their motto, "In Love Serve One Another," they have been fostering women's involvement in society and catering to the community's needs in an ever-changing world.
Initially, the YWCA sponsored and ran a Women's Hostel, Balwadi, and Health Centers. However, after three decades, the association took a pragmatic step to venture into the field of education, establishing schools within short intervals. In 1961, the association got itself registered under the Societies Act. The YWCA is governed by Office Bearers and Board Members who offer voluntary services and dedicate their time to various activities. Their tireless efforts to seek programs and projects to empower women and children and improve the living conditions of the underprivileged in society are commendable. Let's join hands with them in their mission to create a world that is inclusive, just, and equitable for all.
